GlobeRanger Corporation, the leading global provider of end-to-end enterprise solutions and professional services for RFID, mobility and sensor-based solutions, announced today it has been awarded a subcontract with SRA International on a $4.4 million pRFID contract with the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYCOM). The USMC Passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) Infrastructure Support and Sustainment contract covers one base year plus four option years.
MARCORSYSCOM is continuously looking for ways to improve its integrated logistics capability and overall responsiveness to the systems and equipment needs of the warfighter. The USMC will use pRFID as a part of a comprehensive suite of automatic identification technologies to facilitate accurate, automatic data capture. The Marine Corps will leverage passive RFID to improve the management and execution of operational logistics processes within the Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs) at Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton and Okinawa, Japan.
GlobeRanger will provide support modifications to the pRFID infrastructure, sustainment services and packaged pRFID solutions for the MEFs, in addition to system engineering, maintenance support and training. GlobeRanger’s goal is to deliver a secure, reliable, fully integrated and functional pRFID capability for in-transit and in-storage asset visibility within the USMC.
"We selected GlobeRanger Corporation to join our team because of their industry-leading iMotion Edgeware Platform and their strong experience in DoD RFID deployments, including USMC bases at Camp Pendleton, CA, Kaneohe Bay, HI, Jacksonville, FL, and Okinawa, Japan” said SRA Vice President of Enterprise Logistics Solutions George Batsakis. “GlobeRanger will assist Team SRA in creating new processes for real-time visibility and increased operational efficiencies across MARCORSYSCOM supply chain.”
“GlobeRanger is pleased to partner with SRA International in the deployment of the pRFID rollout at Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton and Okinawa, Japan,” said Michael Bigbee, Senior Vice President-Sales at GlobeRanger. “As a subcontractor to SRA, we recognize the criticality of this type of award for MARCORSYCOM in their mission to support the war-fighter in a timely manner”.
